The Snake Pit - it's 5 o'clock somewhere!
Founded in 1987, the Snake Pit is China's oldest expat club and has over 4500 members worldwide. Located in Taizi Square just behind Pizza Hut, the Pit features a cozy bar, a lounge area with library and TV and welcomes all guests to Shekou.
Mama's
In the old Shekou area near A-Best supermarket. Serves a mixture of Italian food - paste and pizza but has now added Lebanese to the cuisine and Maatouk's own brand of famous ice cream and gelato.
Window of the World
The Window of the World is a theme park located in the western part of the city. It has about 130 reproductions of some of the most famous tourist attractions in the world squeezed into 48 hectares. The 108 meter (354 ft) tall Eiffel Tower dominates the skyline and the sight of the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal all in proximity to each other are all part of the appeal of this theme park.
There are also a wide selection of international restaurants and mini exhibitions on famous figures from world history. Window of the World allows you to eat Mexican food, see the Niagara Falls then wander around Angkor Wat. The site takes at least half a day to explore and every day ends with a firework and laser show.
Skiing and snow tubing are available at the "Alps Indoor Skiing".
In the evening, one can enjoy "Fervorous Paris Nights" at "Caesar's Palace". Spectacles include young bikini-clad women prancing on stage to the music of Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb".
Happy Valley
Happy Valley is theme park located in the western part of the city close by to Window of the World. It consists of several sightseeing areas like Cartoon City, Mount Advantage, Gold Mine Town, Shangri-la Woods, Sunshine Beach, Typhoon Bay, Happy Times, Playa Maya Water Park and Spanish Square. Attractions include the Space Port, Gold Mine Train, Suspended Looping Coaster and Shoot the Cute.
Splendid China Folk Culture Village
Splendid China is a comprehensive miniature park reflecting the history, culture, art, ancient architecture, and customs and habits of various nationalities in China. It is one of the world's largest scenery parks in the amount of scenarios reproduced.
V Bar
Located on the second floor of Crowne Plaza Hotel in OCT just across the road from Window of the World, V Bar is one of the more upscale and classier bars in town. Shenzhen's nouveau riche are drawn to its great live band, sophisticated atmosphere and candlelit outdoor poolside tables.
